ARTSPACE is one of Auckland's major contemporary art galleries, and will be commissioning a series of internet based artworks. To present this work, Werkhaus designed and scripted an innovative interface. For each artwork, a hand-executed circle icon is drawn, providing both uniqueness and consistency. This organic approach is underpinned with intelligent scripting, which rearranges these 'nodes' to make the best use of the user's screen, as well as providing a unique experience every time. The interface itself is minimal but intuitive, with subtle touches like springing when rolled over. Behind the scenes, artist information and links can be updated with XML, making expansion and updating in the future simple.
