Stephen Marr needed a website that mirrored their salons: idiosyncratic, constantly shifting, but still personal and real.
Previous websites quickly fell out of date or were simply tacked onto, losing their original structure and focus. I revisited the structure in a series of wireframes, developing a loose, flexible framework that retained a consistent navigation and feel.
To maintain a freshness, stylists and owners would need to be able to update certain sections. I built key pages on a minimal, stripped back version of a popular blogging framework, meaning staff can easily post new photo shoots, interesting links, or mentions in the media. Design studio Special Problems provided photography, type design, and liaised with the client.
