Making news with Front Page Builder

Bylines, deadlines and leads - now students can practice making their own news with Front Page Builder, an online interactive that allows budding writers to select from current news photos, write headlines and copy, and create a layout for their own newspaper front page. APN, parent company for newspapers such as the New Zealand Herald, have long worked with schools to encourage social awareness and journalism through projects like their Newspapers in Education (NIE) programme. Luke worked with Publicis Digital to create an easy interface that would give students enough control while keeping things focused and simple. Small captions and a dynamic gallery of relevant news stories gives younger journalists a head start. And when they're finished, they can print their masterpiece, or send it straight to the editor for consideration.
