Digital Detritus

Curating the throw-away

Werkhaus curated a selection of material from the 'digital dustbins' of the web, content fallen between the cracks - somewhere between 'legitimate' artist and gallery sites and the 'most popular' section on YouTube. Distorting or masking the reality they represented, a selection of material was plucked and re-assambled on a chaotic, long-form page, reflecting it's content. Moving between the ephemera of the Lost Glove Gallery, to the LOL's of Lowercase l's, or the sombre, car-crash like fascination with Suicide Notes, JPEGs took their place alongside screenshots from photo sharing service TinyPic and video such as "Baseball sized hail wrecks this guy's pickup", or "Bugs inside of computer screen". An essay also accompanied the exhibition. View Exhibition or Read Text.
